Baby blankets are so much fun!

So this blanket was made for a friend who thought she was having a boy and ended up with a girl. lol. But in a way it was good to have on hand since the previous doctor I was working on was having a boy and she was leaving on maternity leave. Granted we had not known each other for very long, I believe that every baby needs a blanket to come home in, so I gave it to her. :D

This blanket was made with all different variations of blue from Bernat Soft yarn.

It is made with this "Hark's foot" pattern. It is sooo pretty and has a great edging on it.

Hope you like it! :)

My Very First Blanket...aka Great Grand Pappy Blanket.

This blanket it known as my Great Grand-pappy blanket.

When I was younger, in 8th grade, I taught myself how to crochet. I went out to the store and got the little kit that says, "I taught myself to crochet" and I did just that.

This blanket is made from Lion Brand Homespun Baby Yarn that was discontinued back in 2000.

I was in Maine visiting my pappy and my grammy, and my pappy's dad was visiting (aka  Great grand-pappy). He gave all of us grandchildren some money to find something to pre-occupy our time with while we were visiting.

My mom and I took a trip to Bangor where there was a Joann's Fabrics. I walked through the front door and I saw that this yarn was on clearance. Now anyone knows that Lion Brand Yarn can be pretty expensive, so I was pretty excited that I paid $2.50 for each skein of yarn I bought. I bought a total of 15 skeins, for that is what was all that was left of this color yarn. It was so soft, and  I could not wait to make this blanket.

All through high school, I worked on this blanket. I finally finished it before Great grand-pappy died before I graduated. It was one of my biggest accomplishments for high school, along with all of the other extra- curricular activities that I was joined it.

Any who, here is a picture of it with my little fur ball Friskie. He loves this blanket and will not let any of the other cats lay on it. I guess you can say old age has to do with it since he is like 14 years old.

Hope you enjoy! :)

The Green Meadow Blanket.

I found this pattern on www.bernat.com. I call it the Green Meadow Blanket because the pattern of greens that are used in this blanket. On Bernat, it is called "Spring- Lacy Ripples".

The colors called for in this pattern are: Banana, Silk, Fern, and Soft Fern. I am really not a banana fan, so I used just silk, fern, and soft fern.

I also added an edging on this because I was having difficulty hiding the end pieces of string when changing colors.

I gave this blanket as a gift for Christmas to my boyfriend's parents. His dad really enjoyed it because he fell asleep on the couch with it.

This is the simple edging that I put on it to cover all the sides and make it look neater.

If you want this patter, go to Bernat.com and look for it. It is a nice simple pattern that took me about a month all together to complete on down time. Hope you enjoy! :)

My First Complete X-Large Blanket.

So this is my first complete X-Large Blanket. This was my boyfriend, Matt's, birthday present/ Christmas present. My boyfriend is very tall and has a wide arm span, and he wanted something that would cover his bed while he was away at college, or just something to curl up in.  It took my several attempts to do it, but if finally got done. So now I am just getting to the point of posting it.

This blanket consists of three different colors done by Lion Brand Homespun Yarn, Key Lime Green, Colonal Blue, and Black.

The Pattern that I have used is a simple ripple pattern since he is a Marine Biologist and loves the water. So this is his blanket. So I hope you enjoy it! :)
